What are the Best Blenders for Frozen Fruit?

Whether you are blending them up for a smoothie, or making your own yogurt flavors, chopping frozen fruit can often be a difficulty. By hand it is tedious and time consuming, but not all blenders are up to the challenge of pureeing some rock solid apple chunks. Here is where we take a bit of a look at some of the blenders on the market and see which the best blender is for you.

Vitamix Professional Series 750

This machine is the king of chopping, the prince of pureeing and all around incredibly powerful.  It comes with a wide blade to keep fruits from getting missed by the blades and revs up to a peak of 2.2 horsepower. Cons

  • Difficult to clean

Ninja Professional Blender

Coming in next is this little powerhouse of performance. The Ninja Pro has 1100 watts of power, capable of pulverizing any manner of frozen fruits and veggies. It has a large 72 oz pitcher to create something delicious for the whole family and is dishwasher safe. It has several different settings, including one specifically for frozen blending, and comes with two personal cups, making the best blender for on the go.  It is plastic, rather than glass, so there is that issue with standing up against stains from blueberries and other messy fruits.

Cons

  • Plastic pitcher can break down over time
  • Loud
  • May require extra blending time for large chunks of fruit

Oster Pro 1200 Blender Plus

This is the affordable option to the Ninja and the Vitamix, coming in at just under 80 USD. But don’t let that fool you into thinking it is any less capable than the others. The Oster Pro 1200 comes with 1200 watts of power and 900 of ice crushing power. It has seven settings and the ability to pre-program your most common blends into the machine.  It is the sort of machine you can set up and step away from, rather than needing to hover over it.

Pros

  • Best blender for ice
  • Pulse feature to add control to blending
  • Sealable personal container

Cons

  • Can leak if not reassembled correctly after cleaning
  • To go cup is too large for common cup holders
  • Hard to take apart to clean

Kitchen Aid KSb1575ER 5-Speed Diamond Blender

This blender has a 60 oz glass pitcher that is shatter, scratch and stain resistant, perfect for those messy blueberries or pomegranate that stain everything. With several options, you can chop, puree or liquefy whatever you put into this Diamond Blending System. It has a unique one piece pitcher with a soft start that helps to build a vortex that blends all your fruits evenly. This means it is the best blender for consistency and getting the same blend, every time.

  • Ice crusher option

Cons

  • Plastic on the bottom of the blender can wear down
  • Can be quite loud

Vremi Super Power Professional Blender

This 2L machine has the ability to do more than just blend fruits, frozen or otherwise.  With 1400 watts of power, this blender can make sauces, purees, baby food and food prep a breeze. It is the best blender for when you want a blender to do double duty for you. It comes with a simple design, meant to match any kitchen, and icons on the buttons rather than words. With a pulse, ice crusher, and smoothie option, it can make what it is you need.

Cons

  • Plastic in the base can wear down after use
  • Hard to clean
